Ted Murchison graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1980 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and in 1981 with a Bachelor of Laws degree. Following his admission to the Bar of British Columbia in 1982 he practiced with MacMillan & McKinnon in Surrey, BC for 5 years. In 1987, he set up practice in Surrey as one of the founding partners of Murchison Thomson & Clarke.

Mr. Murchison's practice over the years has a foundation in civil and criminal law. His early litigation practice involved appearances before all levels of Courts within the Province while his general solicitors practice encompassed corporate and commercial law. At present, Mr. Murchison is the Managing Partner of Murchison Thomson & Clarke LLP.

Mr. Murchison has been an active member of the community and the profession. He is a Past President of the Fraser Valley Bar Association and Governor of the Law Foundation of British Columbia.
