David Patterson is a Partner at Murchison Thomson & Clarke LLP and he is the Head of our criminal litigation department.  Mr. Patterson graduated from law school at the University of British Columbia in May of 1992 and he was called to the British Columbia Bar in May of 1993.  Since then Mr. Patterson has regularly appeared in both the Supreme Court of British Columbia and the Provincial Court of British Columbia.

Mr. Patterson has a particular interest in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and he has lectured to police, community and school groups on the subject.  In the past, Mr. Patterson acted for clients in a full range of matters involving criminal and administrative law.  Mr. Patterson presently restricts his legal practice to conducting federal prosecutions as an Agent of the Public Prosecution Service of Canada.

Mr. Patterson is a member of The Law Society of British Columbia, The Canadian Bar Association, The Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia, The Board of Directors for The Lower Mainland Purpose Society for Youth and Families, and The Vancouver Golf Tour.  Mr. Patterson is a former member of the International Narcotic Enforcement Officers Association and he has served as a volunteer high school basketball coach, a community youth baseball coach and a referee in several sports.
